I was gone for quite some time.. so here's the news, shortly:

Last 5 months were a blast. After a full-one-year freelance work at home, I finally got myself a pretty big client and been working as a character concept artist via small agency in LT from day to day.

I also had to go 'mobile' - found myself some everyday friends - a decent Targus backpack, intuos4 M, WD 1Tb 3.0 hdd and a laptop. Here's the little beastly thing - HP 8460p.

And hers's the exterior of my cubicle. It's slightly decorated with an A0 poster of my logo thanks to BOLD&BRIGHT studio. Really good job on the print quality as well by www.proprint.lt

Hail Ineta Aluzaite, da cookie mastah!

Ineta, my fiancee, made a pile of cookies and we went to my hometown, the west coast, for the Merry Holidays. Had a really great time with some friends and family. Been at sea at night time, visited some bars and restaurants, even went to a fancy concert in the NY eve! ..After those few years skipping all this fun - it was like wow! Miss all this already. Hope you guys had a nice time too!

Summer End :: HP zr30w

Boy did I had the toughest summer this year.. Anyways, I finally had my 'summer' vacation last week, though it's Autumn already.. Some really nice and peaceful time at my parents by the sea, and at my old village..

Also, my older monitor (2y old) overheated during the hot summer or smth :| and I decided to order a new one - mega-beast HP zr30w (2560x1600) - best 30' incher there is (hell yeah..). + HP also took care of my lp2475w - I received a new unit. So here's my up to date 'base-of-operations':

I already tested it yesterday and did some sketching. No dead pixels, perfect natural colors, no reflections, etc.. Reeeeeaally happy 'bout this candy. Worth every extra night spend working.

Ok, getting back on track..

WACOM :: INKLING

As of today's news, Wacom releses a new product. A sketching gadget with up to 8 hours battery life; 1,024 levels of pressure; svg, bmp, .jpeg, .png, .tiff, .pdf compatible; and much more awesomness. nice! Migyht be a superior tool for rough concept illustations and storyboards. Currently at ~ € 169,90*

Me and my wife are considering on putting hands on one of these. Since she's really into sketching on paper and it's probably 75% of her workflow..

I'm still about 10 hard % to go. there are 3 medium sized illustrations left. The one above is the smallest in the book, actually. There are pretty tricky ones, with lanscapes (what's smth new for me). I hope to post a few wip's when the book is finished. Wish me luck, yo (ΘεΘ;)

Being a freelance is quite tough sometimes, meaning to be flexible during all kinds of small commissions. And jumping from one project to another may require a lot of concentration, endurance and nerves.
Quite a few friends noticed me that they're still watchin' and were curious on how are things going for pauzak. To be honest, there have passed too little time for me as a freelancer to have smth concrete to say. I'm still pondering what to do next, and yet still looking for a decent place to sattle down or be a part of. Few things are obvious here in Lt for illustrators - the press is dying, literally (I didn't get any proper reply from any of the bigger publishing house during the last couple of months), most of the little firms are corrupted and always try to make big money out of total zero (like, not paying for commissions they order). The advertising agencies seems to be the only proper source, if you have sence on how things rule in the market. All in all, everything is pretty fucked-up and the less you have friends in bussines, the more chances there are for you to end up in a carton box :/

I'm not able to show concepts, storyboards or other recent work, as I'm pretty sure the owners could get really pissed-off and I would get in trouble. I'll probably post em' laterzz..

UAB "Meslita" :: Awarded

The silly joke with the logo design competition went pretty well, and I was awarded for the best logo design for the fictious UAB "Mėslita" brand on humorous TV show "Dviračio šou". I even got to participate in filming one of the show series. + news spread all over the lithuanian media.

A "decorative" smoked sausage and a TV channel "LNK" bounty collection for fans - some attractions you may pick up to try out (such as drivng a "drift" sports car, paragliding, tennis/golf/... lessons and more)

Woooah.. Today I've got the honour to be bookmarked on "FFFFOUND!" - one of the greatest resource and inspiration pages on the whole web!! Tis' nice to have your work appreciated once in a while.. Helps to 'keep on keep it on' you know .)
